Letter to the editor: We should not change how we elect judges
Republicans in the Pennsylvania Legislature are attempting to pass a constitutional amendment to change how we elect Supreme Court justices and appellate court judges. Instead of electing them statewide, the General Assembly would draw districts for each justice and judge. This would allow the Legislature to control district lines and give them great power over the election of statewide judges.
Since the decisions of statewide judges affect all Pennsylvania residents, this amendment should not be considered.
