Letter to the editor: We need a president who'll preserve our country

Our country, once the “shining city on the hill” and the “beacon of liberty,” is now, in these difficult times, rapidly going to “hell in a handbag.” We have, in the last two years, gone from “America first” to the “liberal world order” to the “Great Reset” and “woke” culture.

We have struggled through two unsuccessful, single-party impeachments of our outspoken, businessman president, whose policies greatly improved the lives of average Americans, and the contested election of a good old lifetime politician, whose inconsistent policies and equivocating language have created one disaster after another, i.e., an administration that seems to want to dismantle our Supreme Court and our Electoral College and abandon our southern border.

And we have a left-wing mainstream media that continues to justify President Biden’s irrational excuses for our out-of-control inflation, doubling of the price of gas at the pump, peaking crime and shootings in our cities, and record fentanyl deaths from drugs tumbling over our southern border.

Coming elections might be more likely decided by who not to vote for. After all, Trump won in 2016 primarily from anti-Hillary votes, and Biden won in 2000 from the strongly contested anti-Trump votes. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if voters of all political persuasions quit voting party and personality and elected a president whose policies best preserve our land of freedom and opportunity?
