Letter to the editor: We must enforce immigration laws

Regarding the article “Visits to border detention centers widen Congressional divide” (July 22, TribLIVE): Back in 2014 President Obama said that there was a crisis at the southern border.

Back in 2016 President Trump said that there was a crisis at the southern border and now is trying to do something about fixing the problem, and now he’s a racist.

Is it that he’s doing something, or is it because the Democrats hate him so much ?

If you have laws on immigration, why don’t they want them enforced?

Back in the early 1900s, my great-grandparents came to this country through Ellis Island; if you were deemed sick you were sent back to your country of origin. How many are coming across our border now who are sick with new drug-resistant diseases, or are drug pushers and killers ?

If Democrats are saying we’re not going to enforce those law, then are they going to say murder is OK and not enforce those laws, too?

Sen. Bob Casey and Congress continue to do nothing and complain about what the other side won’t agree with them on.
