Letter to the editor: Verify your information, then vote

Americans want the truth.

With numerous information sources, this isn’t an easy task. Prior to making major decisions, purchases or voting, check many information outlets and get options from relatives and friends.

We can vote out of office elected official(s) who fail to act for the benefit of all Americans.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t true. Example: When people hear “vote for me, I’m for raising the minimum wage,” people are not told that the price of goods and services will increase. Individuals who champion raising the minimum wage are tricking people into voting for them, hoping they won’t realize the cost of goods and services increases with increases in minimum wage until after an election.

There’s nothing wrong with America. America occasionally gets the wrong leadership.

Propaganda is planted from foreign adversaries (and local extremists) among various media sources with the goal of destabilizing our nation. When distrust and unrest is created among fellow Americans, it’s an accomplishment for those sending propaganda. It’s important to verify facts from various sources. Then vote.
