In her column, Lori Falce asked, “Do you have a right to privacy?” (Sept. 17, TribLIVE), and stated that Roe v. Wade’s decision turned upon a woman’s right to privacy over her own body. I’ve always thought that the decision actually turned upon the Supreme Court’s sidestepping the issue whether a fetus (unborn child) is a human person.
Today we have more support from science that human personhood begins with conception — e.g., embryo’s different DNA from its mother, etc. This means an unborn child has a constitutional right to life as a human person. We should not continue to deny this right.
