Letter to the editor: Trump shows love for America

Letter-writer William Werts lists his reasoning for voting for Joe Biden, even though he has never voted for a Democratic candidate for president (“Pro-lifer plans to vote for Joe Biden,” Aug. 20, TribLIVE).

He implies that President Trump is a racist. Please show me the proof.

He mentions putting children in cages. President Obama put children in cages at the borders, and I won’t go into the lengthy reasons for that. Yes, the children were victims, but they were also used as a means of getting into our country illegally.

He says reducing poverty rates reduces abortion rates. Responsibility and birth control reduce abortion rates, something I have always felt very strongly about. Don’t want to get pregnant? Use birth control. It’s called responsibility.

He implies that Trump is not protecting the environment. Where have you seen that this administration does not protect the environment? Fake news!

Of course no child should live in poverty. If you heard that Trump does not care about the welfare of children, it’s more fake news.

Trump has shown his love for America in so many ways. That includes life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Listen to the real news, sir, and stay away from the Kool-Aid. If you don’t like Fox News, there are many other media outlets that speak the truth.
