Letter to the editor: Time for Reschenthaler to resign
When he ran for Congress, Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Peters, had no history in the district he purported to represent. His congressional bid seemed, at the time, to have little to do with representation of the constituents in this district. His self-interest is manifest in his willingness to undermine our democracy by promoting baseless claims about election fraud that are harmful to all of us and that contributed to the death of five Americans.
I am personally tired of watching the Trump enablers in the GOP undermine our national security by using their office (taxpayer funded) to give weight to this fiction that preys upon the ignorance of so many Americans who live in the conspiracy echo chamber.
It is time for Reschenthaler to resign in disgrace. If he doesn’t do the right thing, something easily anticipated, I plan to donate the maximum possible to his opponent in the next election. It is time for this professional politician to get a real job and quit scamming the taxpayer, whose interests he does not represent.
