Letter to the editor: There's no 'destruction' happening in U.S.
Ed Davis’ letter “Biden will take blame for destruction” (Nov. 10, TribLIVE) is pathetic. He writes, “I have never witnessed this country more divided. … This division was planned, and implementation began during the Obama/Biden administration.”
He must be joking. Obama guided our nation through the trillion-dollar real estate meltdown, saved the automobile industry and signed the Affordable Care Act to provide low-cost health insurance to tens of millions of Americans. These efforts benefitted all Americans. Where is the division?
Davis continues, “They began the process by stoking the flames of racial, economic and religious differences. They placed their proxies in all federal government agencies to further their agenda and for future use. Now these people are entrenched in positions of power, and they are using their agencies as political weapons.” These are the wild, unfounded accusations of the paranoid conspiracy theorists.
Davis rants about “the woke ideology being forced on our troops, resulting in recruitment shortages and a depleted, weakened fighting force.” This is a lie. Our military is the most highly trained and best equipped in the world. Is he referring to the Pentagon’s ongoing effort to weed political extremists out of the ranks for the good of both the service and the country?
Davis muses, “I hope the American people wake up and see the destruction being forced upon us before it is too late.” What “destruction”? In the venomous fantasy of the lunatic right, Democrats hate America and God and, like the independent press, are the “enemy of the people.”
All we can really do is pray.
