Letter to the editor: The excitement of Election Day
As Election Day nears, it’s impossible not to be more and more excited for the results. Finally learning which candidate will be able to start fulfilling all our hopes and dreams, starting Nov. 4. Just think, all your wants, wishes and desires will soon begin to be filled.
Sometime between Nov. 4 and Jan. 20 we can all expect the beginnings of: lower health care costs and prescription rates; wind- and sun-powered automobiles, trains and planes; the defeat of the coronavirus; booming steel and clean coal industries; the end of hunger, want and homelessness; an explosion of job growth.
Political differences will disappear overnight as Congress opens its session with members holding hands and singing the national anthem. Only truth will be spoken in every branch of government, down to the smallest town mayors, councils and supervisors. All this and more awaits us on the other side.
I am shaking with joy and excitement as I prepare for this life-altering event. How about you?
All we have to do to find out what our greatest gifts will be is vote and wait for the winner to tell us what’s in the box. Then prepare to try again in 2024.
