Letter to the editor: The elemental helium crisis

So now we have an “elemental crisis” (not to be confused with a constitutional crisis) of a necessary noble gas: helium. How is this possible? Is it from filling birthday balloons (nope, since the downfall of the Mylar balloon due to environmental issues)? Too many MRI scans being prescribed? Nope, can’t be that either, since the Democrats claim we have a health care crisis and people are waiting weeks, if not months, for medical scans, which (of course) would be solved by a socialized (single payer) system.

So that just leaves one option: supply. Since the major source of helium is natural gas wells and we are drilling in leaps and bounds to excess (once again according to the libs) for natural gas, why should there be a shortage? Is there some new regulatory rule on the storage of it (greenhouse gas); is it reacting with something else (oh wait, it can’t, it’s inert), or is it being sold/traded to foreign interests?

Was there a secret back-alley deal with Obama/Clinton “foundations” to sell helium to our enemies?

We refused to sell helium to Germany prior to World War II, as it was considered a strategic material, thus the Hindenburg being filled with hydrogen and the ensuing fire … .
