Letter to the editor: Stupidity an infectious disease

In 2021 our nation faces a more infectious and deadly disease than covid-19: stupidity. It’s running rampant in the United States.

It wasn’t brought here by the Trump fanatics, but some of them are the superspreaders.

The scariest part of this disease is that the people with the most severe cases don’t even know they have it.

Here’s a test: Do you think the terrorists who stormed the Capitol were antifa? Do you believe the election was rigged? Have you ever attended or thought of attending a Trump rally? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may have the disease.

If you’re a fan of Fox News, you may have been infected. If you believe the QAnon conspiracies, paint your face, get a Viking helmet and strap on your fur cod piece, because that’s your life now.

The good news is, it doesn’t effect you physically. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler and Sens. Doug Mastriano and Kim Ward, three nearly terminal cases , are still ambulatory.

The bad news is, this disease deludes you into thinking that you can do things that you’re incapable of — like writing an intelligent rebuttal to this letter.

If you come in contact with an infected person, don’t try to reason with them. It only aggravates the symptoms.
