Letter to the editor: Strive for truth and trust
We all know that truth is in short supply these days. To be true is to be consistent with fact or reality. To have trust, you must have the truth.
How many of us have absolute trust in our politicians, judges, police, clergy, corporations and other institutions? When you wonder why the world is so corrupt, ask yourself: “Who polices the ones in power?”
Our country was founded on the principle that we the people should have checks and balances to prevent our Constitution from being eroded. Our country was once held in high esteem as a government others desired.
I believe many in our country have lost their moral compass, instead seeking entertainment in frivolous and detrimental activities. Don’t be complacent and naive and accept lies and deceit as the norm.
We should all strive to make the world a better place for the next generation, as our ancestors did.
