Letter to the editor: Stop complaining and vote
I have read numerous letters complaining about gun violence and the lack of support or leadership from either Washington or Harrisburg to create changes. Even the recently signed compromise from Congress seems weak to many.
People also have complained about the loss of a woman’s federal right to an abortion after the recent Supreme Court ruling and the strict rules being enforced on women. States with Republican majorities in their houses are now limiting women’s reproductive choices.
It’s time to stop complaining. It’s time to stop writing letters to the editor. This achieves nothing. You have a voice. It’s called the ballot box. If you don’t agree with the lack of response of lawmakers on gun violence, then vote out those Republican senators and representatives at the state and federal levels who have done nothing. If you feel that women’s control of their reproductive issues has been lost, then you must not vote for Republicans, especially Doug Mastriano, in the November elections. It is critical that more Democratic state senators and representatives be elected in their place instead.
Voting is the most effective way to make changes happen. Don’t complain. Vote!
