Letter to the editor: Steelers and Republicans both looking ahead
How do Pittsburgh Steelers fans feel about the methods the Patriots used to get to and win their Super Bowls? The same way Republicans feel about how Joe Biden won the presidency. Can you at least relate?
The NFL will not take away the Lombardi trophies from New England, but we in the ’Burgh will not soon forget how they got them. Nor will we be silent if a Patriot fan (if we ever meet one) would say, “We got six, too … get over it.” Or better yet: “There is no credible proof that New England’s actions changed the outcomes of the games they have won.”
So therefore those Patriots, Brady and Belichick have earned all of their Super Bowl rings and will go down in football history as the greatest team and quarterback/coach duet of all time. We Steelers fans just have to know what we know, suck it up and tolerate it.
But as the Steelers are again striving for a seventh Super Bowl victory building on their past success, Republicans will also be striving for big-game wins in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028 — building on the presidential election of 2020 victory that was …you know.
