Letter to the editor: Society needs love & laws
At a time in our lives where everybody seems to be at each other’s throat, the simple truth is that love is the defining difference in a society. That love comes from God.
Here’s the simple truth as to why we have so many problems. We kill our young before they’re born. This has led to a total lack of respect and value for life. We are more concerned about someone wronging us than taking care of our fellow man.
The rule of law has been thrown out the window because there’s no objective truth. We’ve created policy and governance that clearly ignores the rule of law by not allowing police to do their jobs, creating sanctuary cities, not enforcing the borders, killing the unborn, etc.
Our Bill of Rights would not pass today because it’s inconvenient to our government. That should scare everyone. Without the Second Amendment, we would not have the rest of the amendments to the Constitution.
Freedom isn’t free, but love is. Forgiveness is free. Our so-called leaders demagogue their bases, but in the end they act in self interests. Change occurs with the people. It is our personal responsibility to stand up and say no.
