Is citizen Donald John Trump, formerly known as President Donald John Trump, above the law?
If convicted of crimes he committed prior to and during his presidency, should he be punished to the fullest extent of the law?
If he is not held accountable for his possible high crimes and misdemeanors, we have no law and the concept of order is a fleeting fantasy.
Even the old crime bosses — Al Capone, Carlo Gambino, and Gabe and Kelly Mannarino, to name a few — were held accountable and sentenced for their crimes.
I would not call Trump a common criminal or a crime boss, because it would dishonor the name of criminals everywhere.
Trump may be gone, but his sycophants (Sens. Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and Reps. Jim Jordan and Guy Reschenthaler, to name a few), remain in office. That in and of itself is a frightening thought.
What is even more frightening is that if citizen Donald John Trump is not held accountable, what type of signal does that send to the citizens of this country and the world?
