Letter to the editor: Republican reps did what was right

Tribune-Review

I would like to thank the letter-writer (“Lawmakers in ‘party of Trump’ must go,” Jan. 24, TribLIVE) who told me to “burn these names” in my brain. I will. When I vote for them I will be assured I’m not voting for the left-leaning, freedom-robbing policies that are driving our country toward socialism — overregulation and vilifying free speech and original thought. After all, any free speech now seems to be “hate speech” if it differs from the “accepted” leftist group think.

For example, the violent protests that went on for months in certain Democrat-run cities (police stations attacked, police cars vandalized, fires and looting) was barely noticed by the mainstream media.

Instead of representatives, the writer apparently would prefer kings who will destroy businesses, decide who can protest and what voices can be heard on social media, and refuse to protect our borders and sovereignty.

This was the sloppiest Election Day (oops, election month) I have witnessed in my lifetime. Votes counted after the legal closing time, votes counted without verified signatures, no signatures, etc.

The one thing that assures we remain a free country as opposed to a third-world dictatorship is secure and legal voting. Yet you can’t do anything in this country without presenting an ID — except vote.

So please save me some time and identify more names of people who will stand up for a free and fair election process and be willing to “question authority” and do what’s right for every American, not just the special interests with the deepest pockets.
