Letter to the editor: Reduce size of Pa. Legislature
I agree with Helen Sitler’s letter “Now is the time to reduce Pa. Legislature” (June 4, TribLIVE). There are way too many legislators, and their pensions and salaries are extreme, plus all the help they get to do their jobs. Reducing the Legislature can’t be done with an occasional letter to the editor. We need organization and a fireball leader to tell the government to reduce its size. Put in a House bill and have the people vote on it. It is in our power to rule, not in the Legislature’s power. Too many people sit idly by and are afraid or too lazy to get things started for less legislation and above all less taxes.
