Letter to the editor: Rampant stupidity, selfishness

Tribune-Review

As covid-19 paranoia runs rampant, so does a virus that truly threatens our very existence: stupidity and selfishness.

As a 62-year-old lifelong independent, I’ve studied politics for 50 years, and I sit in the middle of a left-leaning agenda of those who hate America. They foolishly think the world is somehow capable of a kumbaya global existence.

Their irresponsible educational loans should somehow be absolved by a government that continues a death spiral of debt. I guess the illegal immigrants they so eagerly welcome will pick the mythical money trees to pay for it. Somebody will pay for it: you and I.

President Biden has stopped wall construction and the Keystone Pipeline. We had finally achieved energy independence; now we will get more unemployment and unskilled illegal immigrants for labor exploitation by donors of establishment Republicans. They’ll need health care; who will pay for it? The mythical money trees or you and I?

I told my 86-year-old left-leaning friend who received the covid vaccine that he owes President Trump a thank-you for saving his life. He scoffed and instead chose to blame Trump for the rollout, ignoring the incompetence of governors who failed to submit plans to get the vaccine into arms in an orderly manner. Apparently, they failed to believe Trump’s Operation Warp Speed would ever develop this rapidly. As promised, Trump delivered big time and gave us the achievement of a century.

In my opinion, Trump is the George Washington of our lifetime with one notable exception: One had white hair, the other has orange.
