Letter to the editor: Racially motivated violence must stop
The April 13 shooting of Ralph Yarl in Kansas City, Mo., allegedly by Andrew Lester, is god-awful. It is shocking that some white citizens still view a portion of minority people as a threat to society.
Violence like this should not be happening with today’s generation. We all have to come together and demonstrate positive change through diversity in all communities across America.
Ongoing racially motivated violence has to stop. It is dividing an outrageous number of people and not encouraging togetherness. People of color should not be worried about what is going to happen any waking moment when they are out in public. It is repulsive.
It should be a top priority for government officials and law enforcement to bring an end to racially motivated violence in our country.
