Letter to the editor: Pittman ready to be senator

When I became mayor of Murrysville in 2002 and Sen. Don White, R-Indiana, established an office here, he introduced me to his chief of staff, Joe Pittman, who would become my contact during the next eight years. Pittman assisted me with several grants, and all of us struggled through the long process of getting the second phase of Highway 22 built and the faulty traffic lights repaired.

Anyone in a position of authority recognizes the value of a good chief administrator, and Pittman always exhibited the best qualities in that position. When I needed information, he always responded — often on the same day. He was intelligent, ethical and had a good grasp of his job requirements.

That young man I met in 2002 is now a husband, father of four and well seasoned in his job. After serving both White and Murrysville well for 19 years, Pittman is fully prepared with the tools and knowledge needed to be a great state senator. He has assured me that he plans to maintain the Murrysville office and will continue to serve us to the best of his abilities.

Let’s elect Pittman as our next state senator.
