Letter to the editor: Not all Dems always vote Democrat

Tribune-Review

Letter-writer Bob McBride (“Useful idiots of Democratic Party,” May 27, TribLIVE) assumes that many Trib letter-writers watch CNN or other “fake” news. As I see it, Rush Limbaugh was the king of fake and trash news.

Donald Trump spread fake news long before and during his presidency, and continues to do so. And you couldn’t get more “fake news” than Fox News and its hosts Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. They spew the same garbage trashing our government and country that Limbaugh did for years. Sadly, he got a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump while Trump trashed a true American hero and patriot, Sen. John McCain, even after his death. What a disgrace to the medal.

McBride calls himself a traditional- value patriot. No patriot would condone a president who attacks his country and tries to steal an election.

Calling letter-writers on the other side “useful idiots of today’s Democratic Party” is his prerogative. But to say we blindly always vote Democrat is an assumption. I would never vote for Trump, even if he was a Democrat. I have voted Republican a few times, but it will be a cold day in hell before I vote for anyone in the fake Republican Party of Trump that exists today. In my opinion, the only credible Republicans are Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney.

Finally, to letter-writer Jack Juris (“No dignity from Biden, either,” June 24, TribLIVE): Trump loves this country? Please! That may be the biggest lie of all.
