Letter to the editor: No reason to vote Democrat

Tribune-Review

All of the presidential politics letters seem to fall into two categories. They either praise President Trump and his accomplishments for our country, or they spew deep, seething rage, hatred and vicious name-calling at him and his supporters.

What seems to be missing is an endorsement of any Democrat and a reason to vote for him or her. I’m open minded and maybe I could be convinced if someone could give me a couple good reasons, other than just hating Trump.

I’ve seen letters from people stating that they are proud, lifelong Democrats. The Democratic Party is the antithesis of what it was when I belonged, so maybe these folks are just voting for anything with a “D” after its name, and they have no core values.

Another writer stated that he will always believe that the Russians were responsible for Trump’s election, even though more than three years of what I view as harassing and multimillion-dollar investigations have turned up little more than baseless accusations. Facts, truth and common sense apparently mean nothing to mindless folks such as these, and they certainly provide no good reason to vote Dem.

So other than hating Trump, why should I vote for a Democrat? Is it abortion on demand with no restrictions, socialism, open borders, the Green New Deal, antifa, and the eradication of God and patriotism from our society? How about a little help here?
