Letter to the editor: No kindness, compassion in Biden

President Carter, now in the twilight of his life, will be remembered as a bad president but a good man. His presidency will be remembered for record inflation, high interest rates, high unemployment, the humiliating embassy takeover in Iran and subsequent failed rescue attempt resulting in eight dead servicemen and the loss of multiple aircraft. He will also be remembered for his strong Christian faith and humanitarian deeds, including Habit for Humanity.

President Biden, on the other hand, will be remembered as a weak, potentially corrupt, mean spirited, economically destructive, divisive, pandering politician responsible for the humiliating Afghanistan withdrawal resulting in 13 service members killed and scores horribly wounded, over 150 Afghans killed, and thousands of American citizens and allies left behind. I believe his weakness resulted in the war in Ukraine, resulting in tens of thousands dead and wounded, and the potential invasion of Taiwan by China.

Unlike Carter, Biden is not a kind, compassionate man. History will judge the two men much differently.
