Letter to the editor: New Kensington cat sanctuary needs help
Did you ever meet someone who starts a small business and gives it their best effort, only to be in trouble and overwhelmed due to circumstances beyond their control? I recently have and feel compelled to inform people about Anthony Zito and his creation of the nonprofit Zen Cat Sanctuary in New Kensington. This organization has a passionate goal of caring for and promoting adoptions of cats in need.
Charley, my healthy 13-year-old feline, has to be surrendered. Because of the flood of animals coming into area shelters, I found it impossible to find a new home for my senior cat. I cried at every rejection but kept calling shelters, not knowing what else to do besides beg for help. Anthony’s sanctuary is full, but he said be would make room for Charley. A giant wave of relief overcame me, leading to more tears.
Zen Cat Sanctuary would greatly appreciate outside help to continue its goal. Please consider donating, or maybe even adopting a cat in need if you’re able. I also understand “likes” on Facebook would be welcomed.
