Letter to the editor: Money, diversity in Westmoreland

In response to John Ventre’s rebuttal (“Does Voice of Westmoreland really represent us all?” Oct. 5, TribLIVE) to my letter (“Diversity in Westmoreland,” Sept. 19, TribLIVE): I take great insult for his assumptions about me. For one, my vote is not influenced by any one group, and I do not believe in swaying anyone’s vote.

Mr. Ventre, I’m glad you and your buddies enjoy the casino. I believe every dollar spent gambling could be better spent somewhere else. I bet anyone living with a gambling addict would agree.

The Arnold Palmer Regional Airport seems to get a good share of public funds whenever the occasion arises. Maybe ask some other enterprises in the area if they think money is distributed fairly among them.

I never said I was in favor of sanctuary cities and illegal immigration. I do recall that President Trump was given lots of money to build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out, but the project was never completed.

Also, I have grandsons who are not pure European descent. They live and thrive in North Carolina with their mother and father. My daughter would never have had the career she has there in this county, and she works with young professionals of many nationalities.

Mental health issues and needs know no race or income distinctions. And maybe when they raze all the condemned properties in Greensburg, they might find very few standing.
