Letter to the editor: Mike Doyle best choice for Congress in District 12

The new Pennsylvania congressional District 12 has the opportunity to elect an experienced leader in Mike Doyle of Plum Borough as its new representative. As a successful community-minded businessman, Doyle has been a member of Plum’s Council for 17 years and its chairman for 13. During that time, he led and supported that community’s growth into flourishing middle-class developments attracting professionals and skilled tradesmen. His winning approach — make government as efficient as possible, support police and first responders and make Plum’s schools safer for students and staff. as well.

His opponent, Summer Lee, is a two-term member of the Pennsylvania Legislature and is a self-described socialist, endorsed by the “squad,” Sen. Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Socialists of America. During her two terms, she has drafted a bill legalizing prostitution and identifying those who ply its trade as sex workers, deserving the same rights and protection as all other workers in the community. I believe Lee is soft on crime, would eliminate life sentences for murderers and would defund the police. In addition, she supports Medicare for all, thus destroying our existing health care system.

Doyle will stand up for American values. He’ll support American energy independence and curtailing Washington spending that has caused so much inflation on America’s families. He will stand with law and order, and vote to take back our streets. If that’s what you want too, please join me in electing Doyle to Congress in the newly formed District 12.
