Letter to the editor: Mail-in ballot problems

Thank you, Ken Mowl, for your letter regarding the Westmoreland County Election Bureau (“Provisional vote not counted,” Dec. 21, TribLIVE). I and two of my neighbors requested mail-in ballots, and none of us ever received them, though the Election Bureau did find time to enter our requests in its computer system. Since we never received our ballots, we had to vote at the polls. We were all told we were voting by mail; therefore, they would only permit us to complete provisional ballots.

Now that the Electoral College has finalized the 2020 election, it seems none of our ballots were processed. I am curious as to how any other citizens were excluded from voting in this election by the election bureau. An overhaul of this office needs to occur before another election takes place.
