Letter to the editor: Lies about Ga. voting rules
It is heartbreaking and frightening that some folks believe the despicable misinformation and outright lies being told by those promoting socialism. I’d like to address the letter “Georgia voting rule not Christian” (April 21, TribLIVE) and the “drink of water” lie about the Georgia voting law and the connection to H.R. 1/S. 1. Part of that more than 700-page bill strips states of the right to oversee elections, giving that right solely to the federal government. The obvious connection — states can’t be fair, Feds need to take over.
An infinitesimal nugget of truth in the propaganda about the law refers to electioneering, which is “the act of campaigning to influence the result of an election in favor of a particular candidate or party.” Go to ncsl.org, the website of the National Conference of State Legislatures, to read the laws of every state pertaining to electioneering at polling locations. Read the Georgia voting law at georgia.gov, and H.R./S.R. 1 at house.gov and senate.gov.
It’s not the nails being hit on the head, it’s the Constitution and the freedoms we enjoy because of it. Read the Constitution at constitutioncenter.org.
Following the Ninth Commandment is also a Christian thing to do.
