Letter to the editor: Hissy fits costing our nation

Tribune-Review

Is the movie “Legally Blonde” worth quoting? Yes, in fact, when truth is subdued, children devoid of understanding rule.

Millennia ago, Aristotle spoke what Elle Woods cited in her graduation address: “The law is reason, free from passion.” Today, reason is bad, and emotion is everything. Childish rants negate truth in favor of political correctness. The cancel culture requires the destruction of anyone who dares say what is not acceptable.

What happened to the maxim that I may not like what you say but I’ll die for your right to say it? How can those who celebrate the stoning of others miss the fact that when emotion and passion rule, it will become the surgeon that operates in their daily lives when they are the patient?

Adults demand truth regardless of price. Children increase their “hissy fit” without benefit of reason. Nothing comes at a higher price to a person or a nation than thoughtless, selfish emotion.
