Letter to the editor: Hillary & the Electoral College

Tribune-Review

Those who worship Hillary Clinton just never give up. Letter-writer Paul Messich (“Voters wanted Hillary Clinton as president,” Jan. 17, TribLIVE) knows that we don’t elect our presidents by popular vote. If we did, the states with the largest populations would choose our president every four years while other states just watched. With the Electoral College, all states have some input. This system works fine and needs no change.

Hillary had eight years in the White House. Who do you think was running the show while Bill was with Monica Lewinsky? Hillary had the Obamacare idea long before Barack Obama was elected president, but just didn’t have the proper backing to get it passed.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi was correct to say that no one is above the law in our country; however, she should have added a few exceptions — like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden and Ted Kennedy.

Now the impeachment circus is over and President Trump won, giving him an excellent opportunity for reelection. Who said prayers don’t work? Look what Pelosi’s prayers did for our president.

In June, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto had decals placed on all police vehicles to promote Pride Month. I wonder if he ordered decals in January to promote the annual March for Life.

The Arnold/New Kensington area has a deep-rooted drug problem, which is probably the cause of recent shootings. Residents should not be required to dodge bullets in order to live in these towns. I think each city could hire 10 more police officers but the problem would still exist.
