Letter-writer John Newhouse says he “Can’t help hating leftists” (July 26, TribLIVE) even though he acknowledges that hating anyone is wrong. Well, Mr. Newhouse, hate is a choice. And in your case, you’ve chosen to hate those whose political views don’t align with your own, thereby betraying the Judeo-Christian values which I have no doubt that you claim to abide by. You have made a conscious decision to sacrifice both your integrity and humanity, becoming instead both a hypocrite and a monster.
