For three years, we had waited for the moment to physically gather together and collectively raise both money for and awareness of pediatric brain cancer. On April 9, at the 14th annual Race for Grace, that moment finally came to fruition with 1,564 registrants, 300 volunteers and hundreds of spectators at Norwin High School.
We had missed these runners, walkers and supporters, but gained reassurance that our loyal followers will be there for us, no matter what. We had missed the vast community involvement and heartwarming camaraderie that Race for Grace is well known for, but gained perspective that race day is only one out of 365 days in a year and there are still 364 days to partake in our cause; to be part of something much bigger, much more profound than any single one of us alone.
We are thankful to share that the 14th annual Race for Grace, our first in-person race since 2019, raised over $155,000 and counting. On behalf of the doctors and scientists who will benefit globally from the research funds generated, along with the family grant recipients from across the U.S. — a mere “thank you” does not begin to convey the depths of our gratitude!
