Last year fracking water trucks ran past our houses on Route 908 extension in Frazer and Fawn for three months for what seemed like 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This road has weight limits and was not made to withstand the constant pounding of these heavily loaded trucks. All of this weight crushes the underneath surface, and the roller-coaster valleys create a constant sledgehammer effect on the road.

Some of these trucks’ drivers seemed to have no regard for the speed limit, as trying to get out of my driveway was a life-or-death situation — and that’s not an exaggeration.

I called the office of state Rep. Frank Dermody (D-Oakmont) in September and was told his office was unaware of the road conditions. Now we are driving on a damaged road, down to one lane.

I was under the impression fracking companies had to put up money for any damages they caused and for repairs, and not just a skim coat to make it look good.
