Letter to the editor: Fix the mess in America with your vote
The congressional commission investigating the events of Jan. 6 has wrapped up its hearings for now. What else was happening on Jan. 6, 2021, and the weeks that followed leading up to the inauguration of President Biden? Well, the average price of gas was $2.38 a gallon, according the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Inflation was nearly zero because America’s supply chain and workforce were working. The economy was returning from the covid shutdown on its way to its former highs. Further, the southern border wall was nearly completed, resulting in reduced immigrant incursions and aided by the administration’s remain-in-Mexico policy. America was strong and at peace.
In just 18 months with Biden and company at the controls, illegal immigration and crime in our cities are out of control, and I believe little children are being urged to question their sex in classrooms. America’s supply chain is broken, causing enormous harm to the economy, and the administration has no idea how to repair it. The result — inflation is over 9% and going higher, there’s no baby formula on most store shelves and gasoline prices have doubled.
America’s families are really hurting; lines at food pantries are getting longer, and now we are being told to buy $45,000 electric cars — with what? Much of this results from the government’s ill-conceived and irresponsible attempt to leap from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
November is coming. Your vote is the only way to fix this terrible mess in our nation. Make it count!
