Letter to the editor: Fix bricks on Elm Street instead of paving

Regarding the article “Plan to pave brick street in South Greensburg sparks debate” (Sept. 3, TribLIVE): Old-timers who knew how to work to keep our community in good shape are gone. There are people out there who can fix bricks, no doubt at a lower price than the cost of blacktop. Thank you, Regina Zajdel and Vanessa Lewis — we need more people like you.

Indeed, other streets need sewer lines and sidewalks. Take, for instance, Fairview and Adams. Our mayor and council president need also to find out the differences between ordinances and insurance.

There’s an old saying: Why fix it if it’s not broke?
