Letter to the editor: Fetterman should resign

Tribune-Review

Let’s talk elephant in the room: Sen. John Fetterman. I would guess that Fetterman’s mental disorder/clinical depression has been known to his wife, handlers and Democrats close to him for a long time. Those who pushed him should be ashamed, including the media.

People suffering from this disorder have difficulty making decisions, low motivation, low self-esteem and trouble getting things done. They could be a danger to themselves and others. In other words, dysfunctional. Senators need to be strong in all those areas. He can clearly not perform his duties.

Fetterman needs to resign immediately, and Gov. Josh Shapiro needs to call for a special election. I believe Shapiro is stalling until after the August deadline. The Dems even went so far as to somehow have Fetterman co-sponsor bills from the hospital. Cruel and pathetic treatment. Why isn’t everyone in Pennsylvania speaking up? Where is the media?

Fetterman’s chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, on Sept. 29, 2017, tweeted this about President Trump: “This man is not mentally fit to be POTUS. It’s past time we had an honest conversation about Trump’s mental unfitness.” Jentleson even warned against efforts to “normalize … mental illness.”

Trump aced his cognitive test. We need a cognitive test immediately for Fetterman. We are tired of having no elected representation in the Senate. Fetterman’s unelected staff and wife cannot be allowed to fill the role for him.

Fetterman, if you are truly cognitive, do the right thing and resign. Shapiro, get busy appointing a fill-in (not his wife) and call for that special election in November.
