Letter to the editor: Fake slide is a great move
I was reading where these sports authorities think that when the Pittsburgh Panthers’ Kenny Pickett faked a slide, the play should have been called dead (“Football rules experts agree: Controversy over Kenny Pickett’s fake slide needs to be addressed ‘effective immediately’,” Dec. 7, TribLIVE). And they want to make that a rule. I do not agree at all.
If you want that to be a rule, what about when the quarterback fakes a pass? Should the play be called dead? I think it was a great move. Loved it. Go Pitt.
