Letter to the editor: Economy is not thriving
I think letter-writer Charles Henry (“Signs of a thriving economy,” Sept. 14, TribLIVE) is delusional. His letter was hysterical.
He proposes the economy is thriving because of a few statistics. Coincidentally and very funny, the front page of the Trib the same day had the headline “Red hot inflation continues unabated” on an Associated Press story, and the very next day, again on front page, the federal Consumer Price Index states that, year over year, food costs are up 11%, electricity is up 16%, natural gas is up 33% and gasoline is up 26%.
It’s frightening that some are so far from reality and live in a delusional Kool-Aid-drinking fog.
