Letter to the editor: Doug Weimer lives by Scout Oath

Tribune-Review

The Boy Scout Oath and Law have been lived by over 2 million young people who have become Eagle Scouts since the founding of the Boy Scouts of America in 1910. Doug Weimer, running for Hempfield Township supervisor, became an Eagle Scout and continues to live by the principles of the Scout Oath — duty to God, country and self.

Weimer lives by the Scout motto of “Be Prepared” and the Scout Law (a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent) in his everyday life as a community leader and family man.

It is a pleasure to know Weimer as a merit badge counselor and township leader who has always been willing to assist scouts to achieve their Eagle award with project ideas which benefit our community. I am proud to continue supporting Weimer for Hempfield Township supervisor.
