Letter to the editor: 'Do nothing Republicans' did nothing

Boy, am I glad the impeachment proceedings are over and the “do nothing Republicans” did just what I thought they would do … nothing. They ignored everything President Trump did and totally went against the Constitution of the United States and their oaths of office.

Trump must be having a good laugh at his supporters. He must have known they would believe him no matter what he did or said. Did he know he did not have enough supporters to get him elected, for his first term — did he pay off Putin? Maybe Trump also knows he doesn’t have enough supporters to get him elected in 2020, so he tried to shake down Ukraine with taxpayer money and to get China to interfere with our 2020 election.

Trump is a liar and a cheat. He avoided serving in the Vietnam War (by lying?), he lied his way into the White House, and he seems to continue to lie every day.

The “do nothing Republicans” in the Senate are just like him. Everyone heard the evidence of what Trump did, but the do-nothings let him get away with it.

At least one Republican, Mitt Romney, has integrity. All of the “do nothing Republicans” should be booted out of office.
