Letter to the editor: Distortions and race baiting

Responding to Joseph Sabino Mistick’s column “Georgia’s assault on democracy” (April 3, TribLIVE) and William Weiss’ letter “Georgia voting rule not Christian” (April 21, TribLIVE): The obvious lack of accountability on both of these individuals, especially Mistick, is astounding. But as usual, progressive leftists distort facts and language to suit their narrative.

The Georgia voting law is quite explicit in the rule involving not only water, but food, or any other supplements. It says, “No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector.” This was to stop influencing voters standing in line. It goes on to say that water distribution areas can be set up by poll workers with no affiliation to any candidate.

So stop your race-baiting and spreading of false information. In fact, if you’re against voter ID, I think you are the racist. When polled, even people of color agreed it was racist to think that people of color cannot get an ID.
