Letter to the editor: Dietary Supplement Listing Act is nonsense

Tribune-Review

There is less than a week left to stop S4090, the Dietary Supplement Listing Act of 2022 (DSLA), which will regulate supplements out of existence. Right now, DSLA is still attached to S4348, the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA), because Congress knows this is a bad bill that can’t pass on its own, and PDUFA is must-pass legislation. How nice of Congress to pull a fast one on the public?

Despite overwhelming opposition from the people, Congress is going to pass nonsense legislation that is not needed and definitely not wanted. Apparently, the sheer fact this bad bill is still about to be voted on shows Congress’ true colors. They care very little about the thoughts and feelings of the public, but care very deeply about the pharmaceutical industry, who will rake in the dough in terms of billions of dollars. But on Election Day, they “represent” the people.

Do you want to walk into a health food store and find only One-A-Days? That’s their plan. Who cares if you lose your right to buy supplements? Members of Congress don’t care, but they want your vote on Election Day!

The time is now to contact your Congress member with the message “‘NO’ to S4090 DSLA.” Keep track of how they vote on this and remember on Election Day to vote them out if they vote for this nonsense.
