Letter to the editor: Democrats true to their word
When Democrats say it is their intention to do something, they do it, from trying to defund police, raising your taxes, stopping President Trump’s wall and Keystone XL pipeline construction, expanding abortion funding, destroying our energy independence, attacking the Constitution, stoking the fires of racism, ad infinitum.
When Republicans say it is their intention to do something, anything, they pause, wait and see what the reaction is to their hyperbole, then game-plan on how they will wheel and deal with the Democrats to try and possibly achieve part of what they said. When they say they will stop what the Democrats are pushing, they often do the exact opposite if it means they will retain the favor of their donors.
Since before Trump assumed office, the Democrats made it clear they would impeach him come hell or high water, and they did.
Trump had a dynamic plan for America, which, if he had the cooperation of the speaker of the House, Republican Paul Ryan, would have ensured America’s greatness for generations to come. But snake in the grass Ryan did all that he could to sabotage Trump’s agenda while smiling smugly in the background. The rest is history.
