Letter-writer Diana Steck provided a list on “What it means to be a Democrat” (Aug. 30, TribLIVE). If she still believes these things, I think she is living in the past. I used to be a Democrat until the radical progressives hijacked the party and moved it so far to the left that it’s no longer recognizable.

This is what I believe it means to be a Democrat now. You must believe in the following:

• Unrestricted taxpayer-funded abortion right up to birth.

• Encouraging voter fraud by not requiring any form of voter ID.

• Promoting socialized health care, increasing costs and decreasing access.

• Overregulating businesses and instituting extreme environmental policies.

• Decreasing funding for the military and police, making us all less safe.

• Tolerating riots and calling them “peaceful protests.”

• Adding more gun laws that will only penalize law-abiding citizens.

• Taking away our religious freedoms and removing mention of God in society.

• Promoting free health care and free education. Guess who pays for it.

• Preaching about helping the middle class while promoting policies that harm them.

• Denying the existence of biological differences between men and women.

• Never-ending tax increases to fund the liberal agenda.

This election is the only thing that can stop all of this.
