Letter to the editor: Democrats' blind loyalty

Tribune-Review

The article “12th Congressional race between Mike Doyle, Summer Lee remains under the radar” (Oct. 31, TribLIVE), questioning Democratic Party loyalty, got me thinking how you could possibly remain loyal, after the nightmare of these past 22 months.

You’d have to ignore or accept: unsecured borders, resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths by fentanyl; 8% inflation; evaporating investments; $4 a gallon gas; and begging enemies for oil, while draining our emergency reserves rather than harvesting our own God-given abundance.

Plus: defunding the police, and the ensuing murder and crime rate increases; denying natural law by gender manipulation and mutilation; abortion to the moment of birth; confusing and abusing our little ones with drag queens and gender confusion; racial tension and “hate America” indoctrination; men in women’s sports and locker rooms; and separating people into subgroups and fomenting animosity between them.

And: the cancer of the “wokeism,” even in our military; the weaponizing of the DOJ and FBI against citizens; hostility toward religion, patriotism, the military and the nuclear family; and the canceling of our country’s history.

Democrat loyalty also requires embarrassing yourself, and our state, by voting for a radical senatorial candidate who obviously, sadly, struggles to speak and understand the spoken word.

Millions of Democrats have met the challenge and remain loyal. I can’t begin to understand it, but I suppose this cult-like allegiance to a political party, giving it authority over religious guidance and patriotism, could be called loyalty. Or is it just blind allegiance?
