Letter to the editor: Dedicated police, emergency workers in Freeport
We cannot thank the Freeport police and emergency crews for their efforts on May 28, when a horrible storm caused the collapse of a portion of our basement wall, along with our basement steps, while my husband, Chuck, was on them. Fortunately he was not hurt, and the emergency crews were there within minutes to get him out through a basement window.
We can’t express the relief we felt when help came. Such dedicated and caring people we have in our community. They made sure we had a place to stay for the night, too.
Thanks again to our guardian angels.
