Letter to the editor: Consider candidates' agendas before voting

Tribune-Review

When our “Greatest Generation” fought World War II, they did so to preserve our American traditionalism of God, family and country. Yet every day we witness their erosion piece by piece.

If one believes in all three, God, family and country, he or she is often labeled a racist, supremacist or Nazi. All are meant to be intentionally divisive, and they are despicable.

As our election cycle heats up, we are seeing Dr. Mehmet Oz and Sen. Doug Mastriano labeled as extremists because of the personal views they hold on abortion. What is more extreme than the abortion process itself? Ask a former Planned Parenthood employee. Whatever happened to personal responsibility or other available options?

The thing to remember is that while Lt. Gov. John “Fetterwoman” touts a very cavalier approach to abortion as a “woman’s right,” his end game is a vote.

Pennsylvanians are faced with record-high inflation, an unprecedented wave of violent crime in our state, hundreds of deaths daily from fentanyl and other opioid drugs, and security issues due to increased migrant numbers at our southern border. The list is long.

When Fetterman met with President Joe Biden during his Labor Day appearance in Pittsburgh, rather than discuss “kitchen table” issues affecting all Pennsylvanians, he chose to discuss marijuana reform.

As we cast our vote, we must remember that the issues are not singular. One vote can change the future of our lives or state forever. We need leadership that represents the best interests of all Pennsylvanians, not ideologue agendas.
