Letter to the editor: Caring for those with no choice in abortion debate

Tribune-Review

Regarding Al Duerig’s letter “Abortion least of evils?” (Dec. 22, TribLIVE): Nowhere in my letter (“Wolf’s veto of abortion ban,” Dec. 9, TribLIVE) did I say I was a prophet of God. What I said was all humans are made in the image of God.

You may not believe in God, but God believes in you. If you would read the Bible, you would find that the writers were not ignorant flat-earthers at all.

As to wars, starvation and disease, these do not come from God, but are the result of the original sin committed in the Garden of Eden. Wars are started by men in charge of governments and are as ugly as it gets. I know this first-hand : I am a Vietnam veteran. I have seen war, homelessness, hunger and the worst that can happen to humans. I also have seen the best of people in the worst conditions.

Am I a prophet? No, just a man who cares about those who have no choice in the debate about abortion, the unborn.

You are to be pitied for having such a cynical attitude toward those born with birth defects, suggesting it would be better to do away with them . For every word you speak, one day you will have to give an account in front of Almighty God.

I am going to pray that you come to your senses, repent of your sins and accept the gift of salvation through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have one last question for you: Do you celebrate Christmas?
