Letter to the editor: Buccerio for Franklin Regional board

Tribune-Review

After reading the hateful characterizations made in the letter ”Don’t vote for radical Franklin Regional board candidates” (May 9, TribLIVE), I rushed to my computer to respond to his judgmental remarks regarding an outstanding candidate for Franklin Regional School Board, Deb Buccerio.

I would be proud to have Buccerio representing families in the district. I personally tried to talk her out of running for school board since I saw how overwhelmingly she gave of her time and finances to so many projects. Her passion to see the best for children of all races, religions and genders made her push past all other work and say yes to running.

Determined to offer the best for our kids, she was tired of the minority social agenda flooding our schools. She insists schools are for learning; kids are not part of social experiments.

Yes, she has the highest integrity and is not ashamed of speaking of Judeo-Christian principles … what our country was founded on. The writer actually wrote as if that is something the community does not need. Having taught in the district and continuing past retirement, Buccerio still volunteers teaching little ones at the library. She travels to take sports photos for teams at multiple schools, never charging a penny. The list goes on and on.

Her actions speak louder than any hateful comments from someone who probably never spoke with her. You will be very proud to have Deb Buccerio on your Franklin Regional School Board.
